A Barbeque Baby Shower

We had a barbecue baby shower for my sister who is expecting a little girl soon! Originally we had planned a tea party at a nearby parlor to welcome the new baby but COVID 19 happened. So, in a couple of weeks time, we threw together a last minute backyard celebration! With it being outside, we had more space to socially distance. Since she is expecting a little girl, I wanted to use the classic barbecue red color and different shades of pink to make this a girly barbecue!

The perfect place to set up our party was in front of this bamboo grove. We used four picnic tables and covered them with pink checkered table clothes.

For each table, my florist sister made a beautiful garland out of a mix of greenery. Then, we used flowers in varying shades of pink, red, and white to bring them to life! I love how the daisies add a little country to the garland.

I wanted to mix up the table setting to make it more fun with different textures and colors. On one side, I used fuchsia chargers and placed a diaper napkin fold on top. For the other side of the table, I used large white paper doilies to add in more country style and also topped them with diaper napkins.

We set up dessert on a sweet bar cart for a focal point. It was decorated with a red and white checkered garland to keep with the barbecue theme. We added a copper stand with a colorful pink balloon garland and a doily Baby Q banner to tie in with with table setting decor. The designer strawberry sponge cake was perfect and tasted amazing!

The weather, people, decor and food made it a perfect day for a simple backyard Baby Q shower! Life is dotted with special events and they deserve to be celebrated no matter how big or small. Although COVID is still lingering, this small backyard bbq helped us to party responsibly. Can’t wait to meet the newest member of our family!
